Is the game appropriate for everyone?
The content is, but the activity might not be — Tiny Laser Heist can be challenging! There’s probably not a lower limit on age (we designed it to be fun for adults even if tiny ears and eyes are around) but anyone under 8-10 might struggle with the logic aspect of the game.

How many players is the game designed for?

How do you set up before playing?
-
Assemble the vault frame and put it on top of the museum board.
-
Place 5 lasers in the museum, making sure there’s at least one touching each of the 4 outside walls.
-
Place the 4 jewels in the museum - each one in its own room. There should be one empty room when this is complete. Place the pedestal on the octagon in the center of the museum.
-
Secure the 4 jewels by randomly drawing from the bag 2 padlocks at a time and placing them on top of each jewel. 8 total padlocks in the museum means it’s secure.
-
Shuffle the deck of money cards and make a stack of 5 money cards each for the thieves around the table. If 6 people are playing, you should have a stack of 24 money cards. The rest of the money can be put back in the box.
-
Each player draws 5 skill cards - you’ll never have more than 5 - to start the game. Players use these skill cards to negotiate their way into as many jobs as possible.

How do you determine who the Mastermind is?
The first mastermind is whoever had the most recent run-in with the law, whether it was seeing a cop driving down the road last week or coming straight here after getting released from jail. We don’t judge. Once their turn is complete, the next Mastermind will be the person to their left (or their right, whatever floats your boat).
Last updated: August 02, 2023 06:39
How does a turn begin?
The Mastermind targets a jewel to steal - each padlock that starts on the target jewel is worth 1 money card if the heist succeeds - and starts building a team. The assembled team will hold the end of the stick of a tiny hand and cooperate with their team to move padlocks off their targeted jewel (and onto any of the three other jewels in the museum) and get it on the pedestal before time runs out.
Last updated: August 02, 2023 06:39
How does a turn end and how long do turns last?
At the end of a successful heist, The Mastermind: ● Blind-draws 1 money card for each padlock that started on top of the target jewel ● Distributes money cards according to the agreements made with team members ● Places another laser in the museum You can get away with whatever you don’t get caught doing in this game, but The Mastermind MUST follow through with the agreements they made with each heist team member.
At the end of a failed heist, The Mastermind: ● Puts any triggered lasers back where they were ● Removes any padlocks that are on the floor and puts them back in the bag
At the end of any heist: ● The Mastermind makes sure each jewel has at least 2 padlocks on it ● Any player who doesn’t have a lockpick card may draw cards until they get one; they must then discard until their hand has 5 cards in it
The length of each turn depends on the complexity of the heist you’re planning (more complex heists will require a longer time to negotiate with your Heist Team). Once you’ve selected your team, you’ll have 90 seconds to pull off your heist, which keeps the game moving fairly quickly while keeping players engaged.

How do you know if the heist is successful?
The heist is successful if the jewel is placed on the pedestal before time expires. The heist fails if: ● Any laser is triggered (not just touched) during the heist ● Padlocks are on the floor when time expires ● The target jewel is not on the platform when time expires ● A heist team member touches anything with something other than their tiny hand If the team drops or knocks any padlocks on the floor during the heist, they continue. Rules around lockpick cards still apply, which means you might have to play lockpicks during the heist and negotiate with team members (or spectators) while the clock is ticking.

When does the game end and how is a tie determined?
It’s time to retire when the stack of money cards is gone. Count up your cash, and the thief with the most is the winner.
In the event of a tie, the player with the most lockpick cards still in their hand is the winner.
If there’s still a tie, the player with the most pink lockpick cards wins.
If there’s still a tie, have a bareknuckle fistfight until one person is left standing.

When and how will you fulfill Kickstarter orders?
Like Abducktion, Ransom Notes, Open Relationships, Puns of Anarchy, and both versions of Charty Party, we have a Kickstarter fulfillment partner in place. Once (and if) we reach our goal, we’ll place an initial order with our manufacturing partner — who already has the game artwork ready to print. We expect our Kickstarter backers to be executing heists by next August at the latest.
Last updated: August 02, 2023 06:39
What do you plan to do with your Kickstarter earnings?
Our first priority will be to fulfill our Kickstarter orders. After that, we hope to turn Tiny Laser Heist into a real business and will spend Kickstarter earnings on game inventory and marketing.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
